Our Labor Rights Clinics operate out of Manhattan Chinatown center. Workers often come to the Clinics with a wide range of issues from workplace, housing, health, sexual harassment, immigration, or scams by employment agencies. Workers can drop by to seek advice and support in a safe and supportive environment. We provide information on the options available to community members; facilitate enrollment in various programs for low-income families; and encourage workers to meet with each other.
In the past few years, there have been a lot of new workers taking up leadership in the organization, in many different campaigns. Our past educational discussions with these active leaders have been primarily focused on concrete problem-solving of tactical and strategical issues in certain campaigns. We are developing a curriculum focused on the different general theories, principles, and examples of organizing efforts for many of the workers who want to go beyond their own workplace problems or specific campaigns to learn how to organize further.
